Drew Abernathy

Drew Abernathy is a 5th year student at the Pennsylvania State University studying Architectural Engineering. In May 2017 he will gradutate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering specializing in the Construction Management Option.

Drew has had experience in the construction industry ever since he was in high school. During his summers he worked as a laborer in the field for a sitework company, Complete Sitework. In his time at Complete Sitework he developed from a laborer to managing a small crew and operating heavy equipment.

The summer after his sophomore year in college, Drew had his first internship with Buch Construction working on a project in Shady Grove, Maryland. He learned how to review submittals and compose RFIs, while also being tasked with managing the punchlist.

The two summers since then, Drew has worked as an intern for Gilbane Building Company on a project in Columbia, Maryland. During this time he was able to greatly further his knowledge of reviewing submittals and composing RFIs while also being tasked with working with the Foreman on site to determine solutions to coordination issues.
